Our Anchors
Sarva Mangal Family Trust aims to improve and strengthen communities' health, education, and wellness and help them prepare for global jobs of the 21st century. In 2020, they partnered with Rocket Learning, a non-profit that brings high-quality early childhood education access to children from low-resource communities in India. Together, they formed the Shah Lab for Early Childhood Development to improve research in the field.
The Shah Lab's Commitment
At The Shah Lab for Early Childhood Development, we believe that every child deserves the best start in life. That's why we are committed to conducting innovative research on early childhood development to ensure that children have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

Our Focus
Early Childhood Development (ECD) between 0-6 years of age has been shown to have greater impact than almost any other effort. Lack of ECD causes low-income children to have lower intelligence and physical abilities, compared to high-income peers.

In childhood, we build a house for life: what comes first form building blocks for all that follows
Education, play, and development before this age of six results in a lifetime of socio-emotional, cognitive, and economic benefits. Proven by global research, including Harvard Center for the Developing Child.
Now is the time to change India’s future - the stage is set
-
New national policies announcing early childhood education priorities (NEP 2020)
-
65%+ of rural households and 80%+ Anganwadi workers have access to smartphones with WhatsApp; 95%+ in semi-urban/urban
Lack of brain and body development by the age of 6 is the biggest factor holding us back
The Shah Lab’s mission is to support the nurturing of caregivers in a young child’s life with AIM (Awareness, Information and Motivation) to facilitate their child’s early learning.
